Dr Spencer completed a three year surgical residency at Scripps Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center in San Diego, California. During residency, he learned many different techniques and procedures as he rotated through six different hospitals and numerous surgery centers in San Diego. Through his various rotations he became proficient in elective and traumatic foot, ankle, and leg surgery. He spent two months at Kaiser San Francisco where he received additional training in performing total ankle implants and other reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. As chief resident, he had many opportunities to teach lectures, cadaver workshops, and surgical techniques to residents and students. Dr Spencer’s interest in research continued as he completed research projects on radiographic foot and ankle measurement analysis and chronic ankle instability which were presented at various National Podiatric Symposia. Dr Spencer joined Alamogordo Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in 2011. In his spare time, he enjoys riding bikes and spending time with his wife and three sons.

Dr. Loren Spencer was born and raised in Mesa, Arizona. He attended Arizona State University where he graduated with a degree in Biology. During his undergraduate training, he developed an interest in research as he worked as a microbiology laboratory technician for the United States Department of Agriculture. Dr. Spencer received his Medical School training at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona. As a member of the inaugural class, he had many opportunities to lead and serve as president of the biomechanics club and vice-president of the sports medicine club.
