Awards & AccoladesSouthern New Mexico Surgery Center, LLC accredited August 2006 to present. The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, also known as AAAHC or the Accreditation Association, is a private, non-profit organization formed in 1979. AAAHC is the leader in developing standards to advance and Southern New Mexico Surgery Center is a recipient of the Apex Quality Award.The Apex Quality Award is a distinction that recognizes outstanding healthcare organizations that demonstrate the highest levels of excellence in patient satisfaction throughout the United States in markets served by CTQ. CTQ Solutions has granted Southern New Mexico Surgery Center with the 2010 / 2011 Apex Quality Award for Healthcare Excellence. Southern New Mexico Surgery Center was also recognized with the Apex Quality Award for Healthcare Excellence in 2008 / 2009 and 2009 / 2010. The CTQ Apex Quality Award recognizes ambulatory surgery centers, endoscopy centers and surgical hospitals for excellence in patient satisfaction and overall quality of care.

"As the industry leader in outpatient surveying, CTQ is proud to assume the responsibility of honoring healthcare's elite organizations." The Apex winners represent healthcare facilities who consistently achieved the highest level of patient satisfaction. Key performance indicators common to all ambulatory surgery centers and specialty hospitals are utilized to determine the award winners. Twenty-three surgery centers, endoscopy centers and surgical hospitals from 14 different states are recognized this year. "As the industry leader in outpatient surveying, CTQ is proud to assume the responsibility of honoring healthcare's elite organizations." Faraclas notes, "The finalists presented came without surprise. Each organization's leadership thrives on learning from patient feedback. Each provider capitalizes on the use of electronic surveying to maximize and expedite survey responses and express a commitment to quality improvement. Most of these organizations also survey their employees and physicians to gain insight from all perspectives. These organizations appear to have excellence hardwired in their cultural DNA. CTQ serves healthcare facilities in all 50 states, primarily in ambulatory surgery, inpatient care, diagnostic imaging and physician practice management. Southern New Mexico Surgery Center is a recipient of the Apex Quality Award for 2008 / 2009, 2009 / 2010 and 2010 / 2011.

promote patient safety, quality and value for ambulatory health care through peer-based accreditation processes, education and research. AAAHC accreditation is awarded to organizations that are found to be in compliance with the Accreditation Association standards.
The Accreditation Association currently accredits over 4,600 organizations in a wide variety of ambulatory health care settings, including ambulatory and surgery centers, managed care organizations, as well as Indian and student health centers, among others. With a single focus on the ambulatory care community, the Accreditation Association offers organizations a cost-effective, flexible and collaborative approach to accreditation.
